Whether you are a complete beginner who wants to dip your toes into the world of Computer Science, or the next Zuckerberg in the making, AstroHacks is for you! It's a completely FREE coding competition for high school students of ANY skill level. We'll have prizes, food, and above all we aim to create a space for students to hang out, learn coding, build projects, and have fun! Who can participate?
Any high schooler can participate!
When and where is this hackathon?
AstroHacks 2024 will be held at the Boys and Girls Club of Irvine, 295 E Yale Loop, Irvine, CA 92604. The event will be held on April 13th for 12 hours, 9am to 9pm.
Does this event cost money?
Nope, this event will be completely free!
Do you provide travel reimbursement?
We do! Hack Club has generously offered to reimburse the cost of gas for you (or your parent) to drive to any This school year, we'll fund the cost of gas for you (or a parent) to drive to any hackathon listed on hackathons.hackclub.com. They will alternatively reimburse you the equivalent of that if you buy a train or bus ticket.! You can find more information on their website: gas.hackclub.com.
What should I bring?
A form of identification (Student ID, Drivers License, etc.), laptop, charger(s), and any other items that you think you'll need.
How are teams organized?
You can bring up to 4 of your friends to be on your team, or we can help you find a team! We'll have a team formation session at the beginning of the event.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
We will provide food along with vegetarian options but unfortunately we are not able to provide vegan options. If you prefer to bring your own food or you are vegan, we recommend you to bring your own meals. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
